Hello hello, I am back from holiday and so with live scoring being back up I thought I would give a bit of an update going into the final round
Moving day came and went and boy was it odd. Only7 players went under par which meant you could make up some places just by standing still.
Biggest positive movers were Morikawa (+42 places), Puig (+31 places), Fleetwood (+25 places), Lowry (+25 places), Rai (+25 places)
Biggest negatives were Straka (-34), Scott (-27) and Kaymer (-24)
No one else moved more than 20 positions (i dont think)
The big beneficiary of that was Barry 'Peter' O'Hanrahan who had Rai and Morikawa propelling him from 21st with 138 points to right in the mix in 3rd with 65 points
Just ahead of him in 2nd place is....<checks notes>....<checks notes again in disbelief>.... Michael 'Lobo' Loberman with 64 points. I've never gone into a final day in a podium position and quite frankly I am feeling a little sick
Leading the way still (although with a lot less wiggle room) is Chris 'Blubba' Watson on 60 points
The top 12 all have less than 100 and the money is likely to go to one of them
BOTR is being led by Tom 'Damage' Sarginson on 147 points with Tim 'Nadia' Spragg and Chris 'COK' O' Keeffe just behind on 157. It's between them.
Key matchups
With 6 points separating the top 4 and 18 points separating the top 7 lets look at some of the key matchups
Interestingly the top 3 have very different teams. Only Finau (shared by Lobo and Peter), Henley (shared by Lobo and Blubba) and Connors (shared by Lobo and Blubba) are duplicate picks. Which means that every stroke will likely count.
For Lobo he will hope that Hubbard and Soufle make the difference
Blubba will be hoping that Bryson holds onto #1, Tom Kim holds steady and Horschel can make up some places
Peter has Morikawa, Matsuyama and Rai and will be hoping that one of Brooks or Bezuidenhout can improve on their position to make a difference
David 'Wayne' Kerr who is one of the podium at the moment will be hoping for Scheffler to make a move although if he is to get past Blubba in #1 it will need to be because of Matsuyama (a their other 4 are identical)
I think its going to be a tight one and there are lots of permutations especially if Scottie finds his form early - it could send a few up the leaderboard
Enjoy all and see you on the other side
Lobo
