PGA Championship 2024 - End of round 2-ish

lobo2210

Play didn't quite finish yesterday with about 18 golfers still needing to finish their round. But with the majority either not appearing at all, or not appearing very much in M7 teams, I have updated the leaderboard to assume the cut will be -1. Can always correct later if need be

All stats below are correct as of 7am UK time and assume things stay broadly as they are now

The average score across the field was broadly the same on day 2 as it was on day 1 but it didn't feel that way. Continued low scoring for a lot of popular picks has meant the M7 scores continue to be low and there are quite a few of us that will have one eye on the weekend.

So with that in mind we see an astonishing 43 of you get all 7 through (including 96th ranked Stephen 'Tramps' Begley - I'm sure that's a comfort to him), 39 get 6 through, 13 getting 5 through and only 3 playing BOTR with 4 through

And due to the popular picks doing well and therefore heavy similarities in teams it is tight at the top. 23 points separate the top 20

Let's try and take a look at the players that dont feature in many teams around top 20 that might make a difference:

Xander - Bill 'You're 'avin a' Lafferrandre III is the only player with Xander on the podium right now. Michael 'Beebs' McGarry also has him in 6th position

Theegala - Kieran 'KPop' Davies and Nicole 'Grey Goose' Vodrazka the only players with him in the top 20.

Rory - Again, Kieran 'KPop' Davies and Nicole 'Grey Goose' Vodrazka the only players with him in the top 20.

Noren - Marcus 'Dicky' Davies the only one in the top 20 with him

Wallace - Kieran 'KPop' Davies the only one with him (in the whole of M7 - what a unique pick that could turn out to be)

Outside of that there are a few hanging around with Lowry, Matsuyama and An

BOTR

With only 4 competing this looks like it's all over already and Giap 'Dec' Tjan walking away with it on 139 points (almost 100 ahead of nearest competitor)

Control holding us all up with 229 points at the bottom

Best of luck for round 3 - this could get exciting!
