M7 PGA - End of round 4 report

lobo2210

A brilliant final day at Valhalla saw a first major victory for Xander and a few milestones for M7 too

Bill 'You're 'avin a' Lafferrandre III held everyone off from round 2 onwards to seal top spot with a RECORD BREAKING 21 points! This is Bill's first #1 (although he also came 3rd in last year's US Open) Bill has the best part of $5000 heading his way at the end of the season

Nicole 'Grey Goose' Vodrazka started the day in 2nd on 40 points and ended it exactly the same. Those behind her got closer (a lot due to Koepka, who she also had but not in her top 5) but they couldn't quite catch her, although at various points in the final round she was in and out of the top 3. She adds this 2nd place to 2 other previous runners up she already had. Always the bridesmaid never the bride but c. $2800 should help to ease the pain.

3rd place was close with a whole host of players around and about. In fact there was only 7 points separating 3rd - 10th in the end. A few of you would have been hoping for Norman to see it out and get some of that cash rolling over to the US Open. However a Morikawa birdie on the last meant Norman fell out of the places and finished 4th. Well done to Daniel 'Port' Vale who got the all important podium on 45 points. Port started the day in 5th but having Tom Hoge move up 6 positions along with JT moving up a couple (with Lowry moving down a couple) was enough. Port has finished 3rd once before in M7 back in 2014 also at the PGA, which was held at....you guessed it Valhalla. Maybe he is a bit of a course expert. Well played and c. $1600 will be yours at end of season

For all the talk of LIV only ONE LIV player (Bryson) score counted for the players on the podium. Makes you think....

Top 20 looked like:

The eagle eyed amongst you will notice a certain Lobo in 15th position. Almost certainly my highest ever M7 position and peaking nicely for a run at the US Open in 4 weeks time.

Giap 'Dec' Tjan takes home the hotly (3 players) contested BOTR and c. $600 comfortably with 157 points.

Ben 'Proper Chopper' Harris with the wooden spoon on 255 (even though he got 5 through)

We are back in 4 weeks at Pinehurst for the US Open. Just a bit of warning I am on holiday until round 3 so I will be leaving you in Tally's capable hands but it will mean no live scoring until I am back for the final day
