Welcome, welcome, welcome. The Azaleas are out which means its M7 Masters time!
Whilst the players will be choosing between Texas Ribeye or Blackened Redfish at the Masters Club Dinner, all you have to do is pick 7 golfers who won't embarrass you. Good luck!
Regretfully we say goodbye to 9 of last years players -Adam 'Comma' Dee, Adrian 'Kaiser Sosai' Ashman, Alex 'Dravid' Wall, Ciaran 'Eddie' McGoldrick, Colin ‘Massage’ McCreadie, Dan 'Eefal Units' O'Kane, Mike 'Moron' Moran, Nicholas 'Dumpty' Humphrey and Scott 'Sasquatch' Wuchatsch have clearly found the heat of the M7 kitchen too much to bear, or perhaps they have found other more worthy causes for their charity donation this year. Either way, au revioir gentleman. And thank you.
The good news is that we now welcome into the flock some fresh meat. Getting their Chris Tarrant on and showing fastest fingers 1st, Ben 'Lansdown' Hargreaves, Dave 'Mmmbop' Hanson, James 'Hillbilly' Kilbee, Kieran 'KPop' Davies, Mark 'Pet Shop' Raven, Oli 'Aphibarnrat' Roland-Jones and Stuart 'Emmett' Brown all enter the fray for the 1st time, and we welcome back Fraser 'Kerry' Jamieson and Richard 'Rocky' Wright from their M7 exodus. That makes the full complement of 100 participants in total. Welcome one and all. Please read the below CAREFULLY. No boo hoos in M7.
We are also joined as always by our two good friends ’Control’ (the best ranked eligible player from each pot) and his brother ’Norman’ Wisdom (the most popular player in each category - lowest ranked if tied). If either wins a prize (which they have done twice I think, better than most of us….) then that cash is rolled over to the next M7.
Now that guff is out the way, into the real deal….. on the menu at top of screen (top right if on mobile) select ‘Submit my picks’ This is where you submit your picks. Genius I know
KEY POINTS
You can submit as many times as you like. Your last entry is the one that counts.
We suggest you get a default submission as insurance in case you forget
Deadline is midnight Singapore time the night of Wednesday 5th April (see above point on boo hoos). If your entry is not in time, then you forfeit (so get a placeholder entry in early)
Prizes TBC, but approx: 1st place $5,000, 2nd place $2,800, 3rd $1,600, BOTR (less than 5 through) $600
OGWR Rankings were attached to email and can be found here
Deviate at your own risk. They are also under the picks so double check there!
Reminder for the newbies…….
1) Pick 7 players that are playing in the current M7 tournament - one from each world ranking pot (1-10, 11-20, 21-30, 31-40, 41-50, 51-75, 76+). You can pick players from HIGHER categories if you so wish
2) Your players earn points for their finishing position, i.e. 1st = 1 point, 10th = 10 points and did not start / missed cut / DQ / Missed cut / invalid entry = 100 pts.
3) Lowest combined total of your 5 best official finishing positions wins.
