Fairly brutal day one (as expected). Afternoon played about one stroke better than the morning
Only 10 players under par and only 19 E or better
JJ Spaun the only player to go bogey free on day 1. He was a unique pick from Douglas 'Silly' Isles. Unfortunately for Silly his other players not helping him too much at the moment - he sits 27th at the moment with 130 points.
Rahm (the most popular pick) is 6th but all the other popular picks are struggling a bit - Scottie (49), Niemann (79), Conners (33), Burns (33). Although Spieth has found a little form (11th) to the delight of his 34 pickers
Which means it could be an M7 for the more alternative picks and this is shown in the current top 3
In 3rd position at the moment is Michael '35 million' Carroll on 64 points. He is one of only 4 with Morikawa, with McCarthy and Kim also fairly low volume picks.
In 2nd is Giap 'Dec' Tjan on 56 points. Again one of only 4 with Im and one of only 15 with Scott serving him well at the moment.
But leading the way, god help us all (it's better than Tally though) is Alastair 'Baloney' Loney. Baloney leads the way on 40 points. He has Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen as a unique in his >75 picks and with him sitting in 6th place that should be applauded. Also one of only 8 who picked Griffin, one of only 13 who picked McCarthy, and one of 14 who picked Young. Looks like some great picking at the moment, lets see what happens over the next few days
With the cut likely to be in the +7 to +9 region, there is a lot of golf still to play and many of you will be hoping your players can just get round without too much damage and surge up the leaderboard
Top looks like this

Scheffler would have to miss the cut at the other end for us to likely have a chance of a 500 but nevertheless the table currently held up by Rob 'Nosey' Parker on 335 points, someway behind 98th placed Will 'Boris' Buck

Good luck to everyone for round 2. Live scoring as usual available on https://m7golf.wixsite.com/m7golf/leaderboard
