M7 THE Open - Final results and season wrap up

lobo2210

And there you have it. The end of another M7 season and there was drama right up until the final shot!

The biggest movers on final day were Scheffler (+40), Meronk (+40), Southgate (+28), Oosthuizen (+28), Scott (+24), M Fitzpatrick (-24), Lee MW (-24), Conners (-28) and Pieters (-30)

And it meant that we had some big movers on final day in M7!

One person who didn't budge too far was Todd 'Ronald' McDonald who was tied 3rd going into the last round and saw his score improve 8 points to take 1st with a steady 72

Ronald becomes the first player EVER to win Back-to-Back M7s and given he also broke the M7 record points at the US Open - it's been quite the season for the loveable hamburger eating clown! He moves up to 2nd on the all time M7 hall of fame. Another S$5000 or so winging it's way to you soon sir - well done!

The battle for 2nd and 3rd though was very closely run.....

Emily 'Dogs and' Katz was 21st going into the final round with 132 points but importantly she had 7 through and ultimately that made the difference. Scheffler's run meant that it didn't matter that her other 6 didn't do too much on the final day. And when Rahmbo birdied the last it didn't matter she didn't have him because it pushed Rory down to 6th and meant she took solo 2nd place by one point with 89 banking S$2800

Ben 'Emma' Dale who sat 1st after round 2, and 2nd after round 3 looked like he had done enough to secure 3rd place. But a Cameron Young birdie on the last meant that the 3rd place spoils were shared with Tommy 'The Viking' Rathleff. The Viking had written off his chances publically on whatsapp mid way through round 1. He sat 29th at end of round 2 and round 3. But he saw his score rise 48 points on the final day (mainly thanks to Scott and Perez) to tie 3rd with 90 points, just one off second. They both share $600

Final top 15:

In terms of the BOTR - Nicole 'Grey Goose' Vodrazka comes from 40 points behind to take the S$600 prize. It wasn't that any of her golfers made up ground per se (her best player improved by 8 places on final day), it was that the others all collapsed as she held her nerve to finish on 190 points

Brian 'Gordon' Bennett holds up the rest of us with wooden spoon on 370 points

And that brings us to the close of another exciting season

We will be in touch with all the winners separately to sort out logistics etc

We will see you all again (hopefully) in April 2024!
