And yet another disappointing (for me) M7 comes to a close!
But there will be some of you not disappointed at all this morning
Some incredible scoring at the top of the M7 leaderboard meant that as the final day of golf progressed there looked like there were around 5 of you jostling for the podium
Aside from Brooks it wasn't an M7 for the popular picks DJ (55th), Day (Cut), Rahm (50), Gooch (Cut), Finau (72nd), Scheffler (2nd), Fleetwood (18th), Matsuyama (29th)
In the end it is Jonathan 'Nigel' Spink who held everyone off to take S$5000 with an incredible 27 points. He was 3rd after round 2 and top after round 3. He had 4 of the top 5 in his team and he equals Matt 'Beevower' Price's M7 scoring record!
So it's even more impressive that Jonathan 'Nigel' Spink takes home the gold medal (and $5000) with an M7 record equalling 27 points. He had 4 of the top 5 in his team, quite sensational!!
The only other time he has featured in M7 was a wooden spoon in the 2020 PGA.....I think someone asked if there is skill to this game or it's just a crapshoot, I think this proves that err umm....oh well nevermind
Danny 'Bin' Grimes comes 2nd with 43 points. At one point it looked like he could go close but Keegan Bradley's up and down round didn't help him. He takes home S$2800. This is the second time Bin has taken silver on top of the THREE wooden spoon's he has. It's not enough to lift him off the bottom of the hall of fame
David 'Mob' Barley finishes in 3rd just two points further back with 45. With 7 golfers through he went on a charge with Xander's -3 and had it not been for Perez double bogey on 17 he would have taken 2nd place outright. This is is his first M7 podium and he can't be too disappointed with S$1600
Best of the rest goes to Matt 'Father Allegedly' Latino with 150 - that's S$600 good sir
And Douglas 'Silly' Isles brings home the wooden spoon with 377 points
Prizes are TBC (as we need to remove any small costs first) and will be paid at the end of the m7 season
Brooks' win puts him into the top 15 OWGR - so I suspect if he holds near that position he wont be as popular a pick in a months time.
