M7 Open 2024 - End of round 4 and end of season wrap

lobo2210

A tense finish as always in M7, but going into round 4 it looked like the winners would come from the top 6 and that's what happened.

James 'Alan' Partridge started the day in 2nd, just 4 points back. Ideally he needed Meronk or Hojgaard to make up some places but sadly for him he never quite got that 'Aha' moment and they both lost positions meaning he needed to play Meronk's 50. His other 4 players were in the top 15, including the only one on the podium with Souffle, but he had to settle for 3rd place with 77 points. S$1600 winging its way to you and he moves up from 27th on the all time list to 23rd

Simon 'Toasty' French started the day in 5th, 37 off the lead and 25 off the podium and only having 5 through. Most of his players, pretty much didn't change position except Corey Conners who made up 37 points and pushed Toasty into contention. He couldn't ever really catch 1st though and was hoping for a Scheffler and Lowry implosion which never came. He finished on 74 points and will be $2800 better off and he moves up to 57th on the all time list (this is his 2nd runners up medal)

And our winner has been in the top 10 since end of round 2, and was leading going into today. He needed his players to stay clean and that's exactly what they did - every one of them making up a couple of places or staying where they were. In the week where the real life Hargreaves Lansdown have extended the time period for their ongoing takeover talks, Ben 'Lansdown' Hargreaves didn't need any more time and his 67 points were enough to crown him 2024 Open champion taking home $5000 and his first entry into the hall of fame - he sits proudly 27th in the all time list

BOTR went to Andrew 'Bullet Baxter' Moffat with 145 points, Bullet was 40th after round 2 and behind a whole load of BOTR'ers, but by end of round 3 he had made his way into 10th (pretty impressive with 4 through) and ended up 11th overall. Well played sir, $600 on its way

Also shout out to Sohil 'Kung Fu' Pandya who takes the wooden spoon with 458 points, the 2nd worst score of all time! That takes Kung Fu from 27th in the all time list to 48th - 2 years after his M7 Open win!
