Welcome to Quail Hollow! It's time for the second M7 of the year and the first one where we normally see some really differentiated teams.

Full picks are in the email I sent and can be seen by going to https://m7golf.wixsite.com/m7golf/leaderboard.

Please check your own entry is correct. Any objections please raise before tee off. N.B. "My picks are sh*t" is not a valid objection - that is your own fault

There are 98 of us going for the big prizes (+ our good friends Control and Wisdom) - no show from Ben 'Proper Chopper' Harris and Michael 'Shin' Fein

Prizes (TBC)

1st - S$5000

2nd - S$2800

3rd - S$1600

Best of Rest (<5 make cut) - S$600

Lets get this out the way. The following have no chance whatsoever:

  • Simon 'Toasty' French / Ron 'Burgundy' Goding as they won the Masters last month (no one wins back to back M7s - except Todd 'Ronald' McDonald once )

  • Bill 'You're 'avin a' Lafferrandre III  winner of last year's PGA at Valhalla (no one successfully defends an M7 championship)

What does it take to win M7?

The PGA average winning score is 49 points

Who picked who?

72 different players picked which is only 46% of the field.

Not a single person picked an invalid player. We are all playing M7 (might be first time ever!)

The most popular pick is Bryson (80) followed by Rahm (76), Spieth (49) and Niemann (47)

In the 1-10 category - there's a clear split - 44 going for Scottie and 43 for Rory - that could be massive

Reed (41), Conners (40) and Day (26) are the only others above 20 picks

64 of you have the most popular 2 all in your team (Bryson, Rahm) - only 11 have neither

33 of you have the most popular 3 all in your team (Bryson, Rahm, Spieth)

16 of you have the most popular 4 all in your team (Bryson, Rahm, Spieth, Niemann)

8 of you have the most popular 5 all in your team (Bryson, Rahm, Speith, Niemann, Scheffler)

Norman's (Wisdom) team is Scheffler, Bryson, Conners, Day, Spieth, Reed and Rahm.....No one has the same exact same 7 - although Mike 'Moron' Moran has 6

A crazy 24 valid unique picks in all. Chris 'COK' O' Keeffe has 3 (Morikawa, Bradley, Bez). Lots of players with 2.

Brooks is the highest ranked OWGR player picked - 11 of you have him

What about the LIV splitters?

Not surprisingly LIV picks are relatively high for this tournament. They account for 38% of all picks in M7

10 of the 15 available have at least one pick somewhere in M7

3 of you have swerved LIV completely - Dave 'Molton' Browne, Giap 'Dec' Tjan, Matt 'Father allegedly' Latino

Speed and Uncertainty Fastest finger - Well done Brian 'Gordon' Bennett Most entries - Anthony 'The Big V' Vernuccio and David 'Simon Says' Simonsen with 5 Leaving it to last minute - Michael 'Pogo' Paterson with 1 mins to spare! (his only entry)

Best of luck!!

Live m7 scoring will be up and running AFTER ROUND 1 at https://m7golf.wixsite.com/m7golf.

21 is the M7 record score to beat - and also happens to be set at the PGA last year by Bill 'You're 'avin a' Lafferrandre III but of course lets not forget the best record of the lot - John 'Cliff' Talbot Snrs even more incredible record of 500 pts

Reminder - "You can't win M7 on the first day but you sure as hell can lose it" - Alastair 'Baloney' Loney
